The following after-school program types are required to be licensed:

• Programs that provide care to elementary school age children and are operated in a public school by a private company
• Programs that provide multiple instructional activities or one instructional activity for more than 2 hours a day
• Sports oriented programs that also provide homework assistance and/or free play time or operate more than two hours a day
