Do I need a license to provide child care at my home?

Child Care Licensing and Enforcement
A family child care home is not required to be licensed if it is a private residence used for an informal cooperative arrangement among neighbors or relatives, or the occasional care of children with or without compensation
However, a family child care home is required to be licensed if it is the provider’s occupied residence in which child care is regularly provided for children from two (2) or more unrelated families, and which receives a payment, fee, or grant for any of the children receiving care, whether or not it is operated for profit.
